warehouse, distribution centre
Designed c. 1946 by noted architect Harrie T. Lindeberg as a plant for the Doubleday & Co. publisher. Nelson Doubleday, its CEO, purchased a plane so that he could fly from Roosevelt Field on Long Island to Hanover. The Garden City, L.I. plant was already running three shifts, unable to keep up with demand.
The building now serves as a direct-to-consumer warehouse center.
