The historic Bell Mansion was built in 1908 from local stone, by lumber baron & philanthrophist William J. Bell. The original architect is unknown.
Upon his death he bequethed his entire estate in 1926 to the people of Sudbury to remain as a park. The Sudbury Art Gallery currently occupies the mansion, however it has plans to move to a new venue.
