This was the former home of Altex Computer & Electronics, a chain that had electronics and computer equipment. Although small, it was popular, but it closed in February 2016 due to the widening of Interstate 35, and the company did not have the resources to reopen it (it was later demolished). The building was built in 2003 with the store opening in late 2003 or early 2004.
