(Outline approximate.)

This was the site of the "first" Iron Springs Hotel, a.k.a. the "Iron Spring House" and the "Strickler House", a historic resort hotel built in 1874 by Colonel Thomas P. Bond and purchased later that same year by Dr. William Mayberry Strickler.

It burned down in 1882, and was replaced by the "second" Iron Springs Hotel, located across the street from the Cog Railway Depot.

Dr. Strickler was a Confederate army surgeon in the Civil War, who later served as the Mayor of Colorado Springs.

Bond was a colonel in the Illinois state militia in the 1840s.
