condominium, consulate / consular section / consul residence, Neoclassical (architecture), 1912_construction
8-story Neo-Classical residential building completed in 1912. Designed by Harry Dean as a newspaper warehouse and factory for the Italian newspaper Il Progresso. The building is clad in white brick, with light-colored stone bands on the ground floor, which is capped by a stone cornice. A square, white stone enframement surrounds a grey rusticated stone arch around the entryway. The top floor has a stone band course uniting the sills of the windows, and the roof is crowned by a simple modillioned cornice. The building was converted to a condominium in 1984, with 32 units. The Offices of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia are located on the ground floor.
