This ore mill is all that remains of the town of Montgomery, the rest of which now lies submerged in Montgomery Reservoir. Known first as the Eddy Mill, then later as the Magnolia, this mill was one of at least six in the valley that processed gold ore. Its products were hauled to Alma, where they were shipped via rail to the smelters of Leadville or Cañon City. The structure is remarkably intact, complete with a stamp press and a small rod mill.
