This is the location of Ogilvies cabin rentals. The Ogilvie family offers several buildings for short-term rental. This is also the site of the annual Deep River Science Academy which hosts high school students who spend the summer working in the laboratories at AECL. There is a large central dining building for use by the Science Academy. Five of the houses, and the dining building, are structures that were moved from the former Ontario Hydro residential colony on the Ontario Hydro lands across Highway 17 from the hamlet of Rolphton, which is located several miles to the west of this site along Highway 17.
One of the original log buildings still located on this site was the family home of "Granny" Meilleur who was one of the oldest people in the world when she died in the 1990s, in a North Bay Ontario nursing home, at the age of 112.
