267-foot, 29-story modernist hotel completed in 1985 as an apartment building. Designed by Edward Durell Stone & Associates, it is clad in concrete and white brick above a black granite ground floor. The facade is recessed between the neighboring buildings, with the entrance near the east end. It has a bronze-and-glass revolving door and a barrel-vaulted bronze-and-glass canopy extending out onto to the sidewalk. To the left and right are bronze-and-glass restaurant bays with rounded glass awnings.
The upper floors have bands of windows in white aluminum framing, and with metal air-conditioning vents in the brick spandrel bands. The south facade has three bays of projecting concrete-and-brick balconies with rounded corners; the outer two begin at the rd floor, and the middle bay begins at the 11th floor and ends at the 20th. The outer bays of balconies continue up past a small setback above the 21st floor and a second setback above the 27th. The east edge of the facade cantilevers slightly over the shorter neighboring building, which has been joined to the hotel and now contains additional suites, as well as a restaurant on the two lower floors.
The rear, north-facing facade has two bays of similar balconies at the middle and west, while the east end has a projecting section with bands of five windows at each floor. The east elevation has a bay of double-windows at the south end, wrapping around the corner, and a bay of projecting balconies at the north end. The west elevation is a blank concrete wall.
The hotel contains 188 guest rooms. The ground floor is occupied by Bistango restaurant, while Upstairs Lounge is located on the rooftop.
