This building houses the AECL services for analyzing and storing the "cores" that are produced by the geological drilling being done on the AECL plant site. This drilling is to classify the geologic makeup of the lands underlying the AECL site to determine if it is suitable for longterm storage of nuclear waste byproducts.
Not appearing in this aerial photo are a number of shipping containers that have been repurposed for use as storage buildings to house a large inventory of drilling cores. They are located in a fenced area lying along the rear southern boundary of the site.
For many years this was the location and building that housed the Deep River Drycleaners operation.
