Cascadero Toodoggone Project

Canada / British Columbia / Smithers /
 mine, copper mine, gold mine

This is Cascadero Copper Corporation's Toodoggone Gold/Copper Project which they acquired in 2004 from Stealth Minerals in exchange for 21 million common shares. Many significant mineral showings in over 20 areas have demonstrated significant concentrations of base and precious metals. Early exploration of the Toodoggone area started in the 1920s with the discovery of placer gold in McClair Creek. Exploration for bulk tonnage copper began in the 1960s and was driven by the large copper-moly discoveries during the 1950s in the British Columbia copper belt some 300 to 600 kilometres to the south. The Toodoggone area is densely mineralized with porphyry copper-gold, epithermal gold-silver with base metals, and iron skarn with gold-silver and base metals.

This property consists of 109 claims covering an area of approximately 32.875 hectares and hosts 22 prospects and shows. Eight of those are being prepared for drilling programs while one is classified as being in advanced exploration. The other 7 are in their early stages.

In March 2009 Gold Fields and Cascadero Copper Corp. signed an agreement in which Gold Fields can earn up to a 75% interest in this project. An initial diamond drilling program was finished in October 2009 but in 2010 the project was put on hold due to First Nations issues. Further drilling to test high-priority geochemical anomalies is planned once those issues are resolved. The fact a Goldfields has taken a majority interest shows this property has great potential to a producer.
