Wrangell is a city and borough in the SE panhandle of Alaska. The population was 2,369 at the 2010 census.
Wrangell is one of the oldest non-Native settlements in Alaska. In 1811 the Russians began fur trading with area Tlingits and built a stockade named Redoubt St. Dionysius in 1834.
