International Monitoring System, infrasound monitoring site

Infrasound station IS14 is part of the International Monitoring System for verifying compliance with the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. The station has an array of eight sensor elements (H1-H8) located within 3km of each other, four of them forming a relatively tight cluster at the array's southeast corner. All transmit data to the station's central processing facility in San Juan Bautista. Helicopter and mule are the preferred modes of transport to the array sites, which are perched on rugged volcanic hills.
Only the northern two sites (H2 and H5) are easily discernible in aerial photos; the others are obscured by tree cover.
