Squier Building

9-story office building originally completed in 1917 as a 6-story store-and-loft building. Designed by Albert Morton Gray, and called the Squier Building, it had a 3-story addition on top completed in 1922, designed by Moran & Jones. The 2-story base is framed in reddish-brown granite, with a 2-story storefront of black metal and glass. There is a narrow, projecting, black iron balcony at the 2nd floor, with French doors between two windows. A vertical sign is mounted at the west end of the balcony.

Above a limestone cornice, the upper floors are clad in light-brown brick, with bands of six windows (narrower end panes) with common stone sills. Above the original metal roof cornice, with paired end brackets, modillions, and dentils, the top three floors are also clad in brick, and have matching window bays. The facade is crowned by a peaked roof parapet. The storefront at the base is occupied by M.J. Smith's Food & Spirits.
