Former site of Guth's Landing, one of many landings that were once scattered throughout the South Bay's tidal marshes. The landing appears on topo maps as early as 1899, although it was established much earlier than that. Like other landings, it quickly lost its importance as a transportation hub with the coming of the railroad in the 1870s.
