This is the site of the Siesta Key Oyster Bar. Sitting next door to a 7-11 store at 5238 Ocean Blvd. this restaurant was first established in April 1990, it first opened as Neptune's Restaurant, owned and operated by Mike Leet & Earl Roney. It was prior to that called Ryder Opitz Realty with a small 2 bedroom apartment in the rear. Neptunes actually opened on 04/24/1990. It is the first Restaurant in Sarasota County to receive a special exception for outside Dining and outside music. It is still one of the very few that have this exception. Neptunes closed in July of 1996.
