Bepong, with a population of well over 10,000, is one of the largest towns in the Kwahu-South District and is located about 5 minutes drive north-eastwards from Mpraeso, the district capital. Bepong is nick-named "Kwahu Russia" due to the perceived aggressiveness of its inhabitants. JB Dankwa, one of the "Big Six" in Ghana's political history, had part of his primary education in this town.
