One of several air tanker bases throughout BC managed by Wildfire Management Branch of BC Ministry of Forests.

In recent years a Lockheed Electra L-188 "Longliner" air tanker and a Turbo Commander 690 bird dog from Air Spray Aviation Services have been based here. www.airspray.com/flight-operations/

(the two photos are of a demonstration drop by the Longliner at Kamloops Airport during the BC Forest Service Wildfire Branch Centennial celebration on June 15, 2012. The air tankers normally based at Kamloops had been sent to fight wildfires in Colorado and were therefore unavailable, so the Longliner was brought in from Penticton for the demo.)
