Monohardi Upazila (Narsingdi district) with an area of 195.57 sq km, is bounded by Pakundia and Katiadi upazilas on the north, Shibpur upazila on the south, Belabo and Katiadi upazilas on the east, Kapasia upazila on the west. Main rivers are old Brahmaputra and Arial khan; noted beels are Gotashia and Parail Beel.
Monohardi is located at 24.1448204N 90.703125E degree. Monohardi (Town) consists of four mouzas. Its area is 6.83 sq km. The town has a population of 10173; male 51.3% female 48.7%; population density is 1489 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 35.5%.
Monohardi thana, now an upazila, was established in 1904. The upazila consists of 11 union parishads, 124 mouzas and 165 villages.
