Historic Colonial Revival-style apartment complex constructed in 1942 by the Federal Housing Administration. The complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. It is one of thirteen Federal Housing Administration-insured garden apartment developments constructed in the greater Richmond area between 1942 and 1950 to meet housing needs in the early post-World War II era. The complex exemplifies the middle-class urban apartment design that FHA encouraged from the 1930s into the immediate postwar years to alleviate the nation’s chronic housing shortage.
