Old Description (For Carper Apartments)

Torn Down in Early 1990s, now an empty field. This was incredibly cheap military housing.

It was cheap housing, then a field, but now a new neighborhood is being built.

  • Midway Apartments is the new housing area. Homes are much more spread out now. Nearly all streets (courts) were named after states. I lived there for eight years.
  • Lived there for a year or two back in the late 80's before they tore it down. Roach filled dump but I was young and stupid. Lots of bad mojo, glad it's gone.
  • I lived there in the late 80's, early 90's as a kid, on Arizona court. Had a lot of good and bad memories at that place. Looks so different now.

  • Our family lived on Arizona Court during the early and then mid-to-late 80s. OSB, we probably knew one another!
  • I actually liked the place. Of course, I was a child. However, most of my memories of Carper were pleasant. I used to play on the Jungle Gym behind Arizona Ct. and near the tennis courts. And, of course, the BMX track was fantastic!
  • I lived on Nevada ct in the late 80s. I have a ton of great memories there. I was a little sad to see it had been torn down.
  • Lived on Idaho Court 1980-1981. Wasn't the best place around, but had some really good friends at that time.

  • i lived on Colorado court, not sure of the address though I lived there from 1979-1981
  • Nevada Court from June 1989 to June 1995. Last family to live in that house, one of the last on the court, almost everyone else had gone by then. It was like a ghost town in all of the courts. Climbed up on the garage and took the number plate for the unit to keep as a memory. Odd feeling to know that your house/home was being torn down. Goodbye, Carper!
  • 1103 Florida court from 1989-1993. I was just a kid but man I had some fun times there. It was great making friends with all the other kids from neighboring courts. Salem sharks!

  • Holy crap, lived there - god - I don't even remember when. It was first left all the way back and then a right into the cul-de-sac. It was an upgrade from Bemoral at least. Rouses, Lyons, Ingles ... names from my childhood.

  • I lived in Carper Apts when I was a kid and went to White Oaks Elementary School. I can't remember what street I lived on but it was the first one on the left as you come in farther from the school
