It was established in the year 1715 by the British missionaries and it has got an orphanage within it. It was one of the best institutions across the country.. but slowly the glory fading. None believes this school has got an area of 27.5 acres that too in the heart of the Chennai city. But it does! What's the point having such a wide area in the city? does it benefit the children? Are they utilizing it? What does the management do?Everything has become a BIG Q??? We can proudly say it was a.. it had a.. they were a...there were a.. but all were only in the past. We still sing the GLORY OF THE PAST because there is nothing left now to be really sung!

Hi Noble,
My name is Geoffrey Fernandez, I spent 1961 to 1968 at this GREAT SCHOOL, some of the best teachers I've ever known, made me what I am today, my gratitude to them all. It was certainly a pleasure to read your article on St Georges' here. If anyone from my time at St Georges would like to catch up with me I would love to hear from them, especially any of Sgt. Tony Rodrigues family, Mrs Poorinalingams' family, Mrs Shackeltons' family, Michael Gallyot and my classmates from that era. I did write to Russell Stevenage, but did not receive any response, guess he is busy. Would love to hear from the class of '68. Cheers. Geoff. I could be reached at alexa1650@yahoo.com.au
