Built in 1948 with a capacity for 1500 spectators, the Copper King Stadium has been used by the Douglas Bulldogs baseball teams as their home field for many years. In addition to that, back in the 1950s, Douglas had a professional baseball team, the Douglas Copper Kings (Class 'C' professional league), and they also used this field as their home field. The Copper Kings were members of the Arizona-Mexico League, and of the Arizona-Texas League.
