Ponte de Belver - Ponte José Adriano Rebelo.

Portugal / Lisboa e Vale do Tejo / Alferrarede /

This bridge was built between 1902 and 1905 with the vigour of the people of Gavião and Belver leaded by José Adriano Rebelo, Member of Parliament and King Carlos Council.
As per many public projects this bridge was considered at the time non profitable and was finding opposition from many political sectors of the region and nation. With is money and obstinacy José Rebelo made the Bridge. Some say that people would question José Rebelo capacity to proceed with is project and said he only would build a Bridge made of Cane. I actually build two, one made of cane and one of Iron and Stone, side by side.
