This is a very high-tech facility used for tightly controlled experiments in plant biology. It has chambers of varying sizes, from ones roughly the size of an oven to large walk-in chambers. Each chamber, no matter what size, can be controlled for light levels (programmable to simulate day/night cycles), temperature, etc. Some chambers are equipped to provide certain gases. The phytotron staff can regularly water the plants in the phytotron if desired. Color-coded tags are used to indicate whether water or nutrient solution should be used and how often.
