This former tobacco production and storage complex is significant as one of many such facilities that thrived in Richmond in the late 19th through mid 20th centuries. It is an example of the move away from vertically-oriented, compact facilities towards more spread out complexes. The complex has been vacant for some time, though redevelopment plans have been proposed and stalled since 2008.
