Ir. Lios na Saileach ‘ringfort of the willow tree’

Lisnasallagh is a small townland of 81 acres on the NE boundary of sSaintfield parish. The first reference to it found so far is in 1659, and it was probably earlier part of another townland. Nevertheless, there is a surviving rath, at J 387643 ‘on the summit of a small low drumlin with good views all round, although ‘half the site has been destroyed and the entire interior is a concreted yard’ (NISMR).
