Originally constructed as a thirteen-unit apartment building in 1952 by General Motors as a corporate retreat, the building was later converted into an 18 unit hotel.
The Tower is one of architect Charles McKirahan's most whimsical constructions. Architectural details include step-back construction providing generous windows and water view balconies for each apartment. The fanciful 50-foot circular steel "tower" and stairway facing Bayshore Drive lead to the owner's rooftop apartment. A graceful curving glass west facade mirrors the Intracoastal shoreline.
