The Kotwali police on Friday registered a case against Ghanshyam Panpaliya, the controversial trustee and chairman of the trust that runs the Nagpur College of Homoeopathy, for preventing the state-appointed administrator to take charge of the institution.
Panpaliya, booked under various sections in the past, had allegedly shut the main gate of the college a day before the administrator Dr Subhas Raut reached Nagpur on Friday. Raut is the former principal of the Sakkardara-based homoeopathy college.
The teachers, staff and students have been demanding that an administrator be appointed to the college due to several management problems. Police registered an offence of wrongful restraint against Panpaliya after Dr Raut filed a complaint.
