  By Anil K. Waghmare GTN Textiles Limited was established in 1964 with 12,000 spindles at Aluva , Kerala. The Aluva unit was commissioned in 1964 for the manufacture of cotton yarn with a capacity of 12,000 spindles. In 1966, the company was taken over by the present management, the Patodia - GTN group. GTN group which was started with a single unit has gradually grown into a multi location, multi unit spinning group with spindleage of close to two lakhs. GTN Textiles Limited incorporated in 1962 as per companies Act 1956 continued to exist unchanged till 26th December 2005. A resolution was passed for demerger of their units into two separate groups namely 1. GTN Textiles Limited 2. GTN Industries Limited Two units namely GTN Textiles Limited, Aluva unit and Patspin India Limited continue to remain in GTN Textiles Limited. The other units namely GTN Textiles Limited (Medak Unit), GTN Textiles Limited(Nagpur Unit), GTN Textiles Limited (Yarn Processing Unit)-Shadnagar will function as the units of GTN Industries Limited from 27th December 2005. GTN Industries Group is having the following units. a ) GTN INDUSTRIES LIMITED a) Medak - Spinning Unit b) Nagpur - Spinning Unit (ISO 9002:1994 Certified in Dec-1996) (ISO 9002:1994 ReCertified in Jan-2000) (ISO 9001:2000 ReCertified in Feb-2003) (ISO 9001:2000 ReCertified in Feb-2006) The present certificate is valid upto 7th Mar-2009
