The European Technology and Training Centre in Erbil was inaugurated in the presence of the German Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier in February 2009. In the past two years the ETTC has built the capacity of the society of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and contributed to its economic and democratic development by offering a wide range of trainings, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and other events in cooperation with European partner countries. One of its core programs has been capacity-building to improve democracy, good governance and the rule of law together with the Regional Government of IKR and the Central Government of Iraq.
