The Erbil Ministry of Education ranked IDBEC as the top private primary school in both 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. Ihsan Dogramaci Bilkent Erbil College (IDBEC) is a multilingual school teaching in English, Turkish and Kurdish, with Arabic added in Grade 4 and more languages to be added in a later phase. We opened in September 2010 and have 390 students from KG (1 & 2) – Grade 4. We aim to grow to a full K - 12 school in a number of years. We are a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and have been authorized as an International Baccalaureate World School for Primary Years Programme. Our teaching staff consists of extremely experienced and well qualified international teachers from around the world, including many PYP trainers and teachers with PYP experience.

Our excellent facilities and resources evidence the commitment of Bilkent University in Ankara to create a world class school in the region. Our school has these sister schools in Turkey: İhsan Doğramacı Foundation Özel Bilkent Primary School, İhsan Doğramacı Özel Bilkent Secondary School, Bilkent Laboratory & International School and Bilkent University Music Preparatory School (all in Ankara) and the İhsan Doğramacı Foundation Bilkent Erzurum Primary and Secondary Schools (in Erzurum).
