The Amman Citadel is built on Jebel Al Qala'a and comprises a Roman temple complex with a fortress as well as an ancient Ummayyad palace, a small Byzantine basilica and the Temple of Hercules (the 'Great Temple of Amman'). It is located in the heart of Amman and offers spectacular views over the Roman theatre and major parts of Amman downtown. During the holy month of Ramadan, concerts, shows and events are organised within Amman Citadel every night.
