Consists of three buildings:
Leon Shimkin Hall, at 50 W. 4th Street, is an 11-story Romanesque-revival building completed in 1896, and designed by Alfred Zucker. It was originally a warehouse, and later a hat manufacturing plant. NYU moved into this building in 1926, using it for the School of Commerce. It has a 2-story limestone base, with large 2-story recessed entrance arches. Above a corbelled stone cornice, the upper floors are clad in buff-colored brick. The 3-window bays are recessed, with brown metal mullions, and culminate in round-arches at the 9th floor. Above a small corbelled cornice, the top floor has an arcade of Doric columns, rising two floors up on each end.

Kaufman Management Center, at 44 W. 4th Street, is a 10-story building completed in 1992. Designed by Helpern Associates, who also designed the plaza between between Warren Weaver Hall, Tisch Hall and the Kaufman Management Center. It is of postmodern design, clad in pre-cast concrete, glass and red-painted metal. There are setbacks from 4th Street at the 4th and 8th floors. A 4-story, semi-circular foyer with supporting columns and an sloping top section extends into the plaza.

Tisch Hall, at 40 W. 4th Street, is a 10-story building completed in 1972, designed by Philip Johnson in red sandstone to match his Bobst Library design down the street. It occupies the southern third of the lot, with a pedestrian plaza in front. The north facade has a regular grid of paired windows with large, black metal equipment screens at the top level; the south facade has windows at the edges, with a solid sandstone center section.
