This was at one time called the Dawson's Tavern. Gib Dawson, former Douglas High School football player( late 40's), went on to be an All State Arizona fooball player, a University of Texas Longhorn player, and a Green Bay Packer. In the early 50's, when the College All Stars would be pitted against the NFL Champs annualy, Gib Dawson was named the MVP in a game in which the College All Stars beat the NFL Champs Detroit Lions. Gib's Dad was the owner of this Bar/Grill at the time.
