National Dairy built this plant in 1955 for oils and process cheese, a product they still make today, with original products including Miracle Whip (later moved to a plant) and Velveeta (which is still made here, but briefly left the plant from 2012 to 2016). A series of name changes and mergers ultimately resulted in this plant being owned by the modern Kraft Heinz Company.
