Previously known as Safari Village this is the central hub of Disney's Animal Kingdom. Discovery Island is the center island in the park with bridge pathways to all six of the other lands. It is also the home of The Tree of Life. Here you'll also see kangaroos, flamingos, axis deer, West African crowned cranes, vultures, porcupines, lemurs, macaws, ducks, Galapagos tortoise, small-clawed otters, saddlebill storks, and more. Many of the animals on this Island used to be located at the original Discovery Island located in Bay Lake by The Wilderness Lodge.
