The Officers and Aircrew Selection Centre (OASC)
The Officers and Aircrew Selection Centre (OASC) is responsible for the selection of all Officers for regular and reserve Service, and Non-Commissioned Aircrew and Air Traffic Controllers for regular Service. In addition, the OASC is responsible for the selection of candidates for the RAF’s Defence Sixth Form College, University Bursaries, Medical and Dental Cadetships, and the Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme. Furthermore, OASC performs aptitude testing for the Royal Navy, Army, Civil Police, and a variety of external charitable organisations that provide flying scholarships (including RAFA, Air League and the Guild of Air Pilots & Navigators).

The Inspectorate of Recruiting (IofR)
The Inspectorate of Recruiting (IofR) is responsible for recruiting and selecting all non-commissioned personnel for initial recruit training at RAF Halton or RAF Honington.
In addition, it is responsible for the initial processing of potential officers and non-commissioned aircrew for consideration by the OASC and many significant ancillary task such as, all facets of RAF Marketing, Delivering the RAF's Youth Strategy, nationwide RAF Motivational Outreach and RAF Ethnic Minority Recruiting Policy
