Also known as Thiru Venkata Natha Temple.
Destroyed by Muslim Invaders/Terrorists. The temple was constructed by Achyuta Raya successor of Sri Krishna Deva Raya). It is a beautiful and grand temple, but unfortunately pillaged by the marauders of Muslim dynasties of Deccan, as a consequence of Battle of Tallikota in 1565 A.D. One can appreciate the grandeur of the temple,when it is seen from the nearby hillock.

  • During the war the structure around the battle groung gets detroyed due to use of cannons. If the Muslims wanted to destroy all temples then why did they spare Virupaksha Temple and other structures around Hampi. Before Vijayanagara kingdom the place was ruled by Jain rulers & they too had their massive temples. Are they there now? No, they got destroyed during the process of civlization. So stop accusing and try building brigt future for the GeNext.
  • Why whitewashing the muslim invaders...all the temples and buildings around hampi are destroyed by these invaders..Battle ground was in talikotta 160 kn from hampi..the defeated vijayanagara army ,remaining vijayanagara army went to penuconda...there were no fight in hampi as there was no vijayanagara army..this was written by the sulthans and his writers...the looting continued for 6 months after this they set fire to the buildings..because of the emblem in virupaksh temple ,varaha,they spared that..Did you went to the so called quitab minar,behined that there is a destructed temple...quitab minar was constructed by prithviraj its name is dhruv stambh...who built the iron pillar in front of the minar..non resting ..inscription are ther ein pally language..Even madura meenakshi temple in madura tamilnadu was destroyed by muslim invaders..it was rebuilt by pandyas..hindus had to pay jaziya to live as hindus during their rule...how can a a massive granite structure can be destroyed by civilization???in andra all kakethiya temples are destroyed by these invaders...warangal...in the name of god they are still doing these sathanic acts...
