Gandhi Faiz-E-Aam College, Shahjahanapur was established in 1947. It was affiliated to the University of Agra had the distinction of then being the first degree College in the district. Later, it was affiliated to the University of Rohilkhand, It is co-educational, multi-discipline institution. It was in mid forties of the last century that its founder, Khan Bahadur Fazal-ur-Rahman Khan, was toying with the idea of establishing an educational institution of exceptional merit and excellence. The times were uneasy because of the partition politics and his plan, to most people, seemed neither relevant nor feasible. The frayed tempers and exasperated nerves are always inimical to sanity and wisdom. However, all this did not deter him and in July 1947, just a month before the partition of the country, he succeeded in establishing the institution of his dreams at Shahjahanapur. He named it after Gandhi Ji and thus determined what course it was to take and what ideals it was to uphold.. He presided over it, till his death in 1971 with loving care and benevolent supervision and gave to it the stamp of his liberalism and his idealism. Naturally, Gandhi Faiz-e-Aam College grew into a multi dimensional co -educational institution that was something more than a centre of learning. Its stature was of a minority institution, in the main stream, competing with the best, and setting standards that even the most successful could envy. It was not an accident that it had an extremely peaceful campus a very rich work- culture, a harmonious students teacher interaction and exceptionally good academic results, Much of it was built in the system itself. The College has a huge campus. Its expansive greenery its clusters of shady trees ( under which the classes are held, the Shantiniketan way ) its colourful flower beds and its climbers that even peep into the class rooms are an integral part of our life on the campus. There is peace, beauty grace and tranquility that soothe and nourish the young minds and mould them the way that nature alone does. The College is open to all students, irrespective of their caste, creed or religion.

The College is situated in the Cantonment area and is, therefore, completely free from noise, pollution and pressures of a crowded city and yet it is centrally located to be within easy reach of all.
Its Very large campus with evergreen lawns, shady orchards and flower beds generate an atmosphere of peace and tranquility that is bio-friendly, restorative and soothing.
similarly , its spacious class rooms and lecture theatres, its rich library and reading rooms and its well equipped laborites with highly qualified faculty member ensure that a learner has every facility and opportunity to learn and learn well.
And its Playgrounds and gymnasium, with maximum incentive and facilities for games and sports of all types, demand that the young scholars must not neglect physical fitness and spirit of competition outside the class rooms.
Naturally, the College expects its scholars not only to learn well but also to learn fruitfully and purposefully so that late on they, as disciplined and responsible citizens, may be an asset to the society and the nation.
