Light first exhibited in 1880. The light is 270 ft above sea level and the tower is 28 ft in height. The white light flashes once every 10 seconds and can be seen for 23 miles in clear weather . The power source is from mains electricity with one diesel generator on standby for emergency power.

This Lighthouse was moved from the Akaroa Head to this site on the 4th October 1980 by the Akaroa Lighthouse preservation society.

Open to the public on Sundays from 1-30 p.m. until 4-30 p.m.
