Point Wilson is part of the larger Sperm Whale Head, it is a large spit of land sticking out into Lake Victoria. Point Wilson is the most prominant part as it is a sandy point (mostly underwater) that sticks out so far that it needs a marker to warn passing boats.
Although camping is not alowed at Point Wilson the shelter and large grassy area are perfect for lunch stops, games and just relaxing. Often patrols rest at Point Wilson if they are early for a crossing. It is also a great place to stop for lunch on a short Day Sail.
