Deepdale golf club, founded in 1924 when William K. Vanderbilt decided to convert some of his Deepdale summer estate into a private golf course. Original course was what is now the Lake Success Village Club, but that was cut into in 1954 by the L.I.E. construction. New course moved northeast onto J.P. Grace I estate property, redesigned, and reopened in 1955. Notable members of the club are reported to include Michael Bloomberg, Charlie Rose, Tom Brokaw, and Donald Marron.
