2-story precinct house completed in 1969. Designed by Francis X. Gina & Associates, the building is clad in rough and smooth concrete, with a brick ground floor. The AIA Guide to New York City calls it a "visual catastrophe."

The 6th Precinct services the West Greenwich Village Area, and is also home to NYPD's bomb squad. Washington Square Park is located in the center of the precinct. The 6th Precinct has a large gay and lesbian population.
