Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims (Reims)

France / Champagne-Ardenne / Reims / rue Robert de Coucy
 cathedral, UNESCO World Heritage Site

The cathedral, where 24 kings of France were crowned, is one of the finest examples of High Gothic architecture. It was completed by the end of the 13th century, except for the majestic 81-meter-high west front, erected in the 14th century.

It was gutted by fire and shelling during World War I, but was rebuilt and restored between 1919 and 1938, with donations from the Rockefellers.
