Vembanoorkulam,Surrounded by Majestic Hills and fringed with coconut trees and paddy fields, located in Kanyakumari district at the southern tip of Tamil Nadu.surface area of the lake was covered in floating and rooted vegetation including lotus Nelumbium speciosum, water lily Nymphaea lotus and Limnanthemum .The water level of the lake, and hence the area and density of the aquatic vegetation, was influenced both by rainfall and by artificial control using sluice gates to let out water for irrigation.This lake attracts rare water birds bronze-winged jacanas and other migrated birds -Soban
