He was studied in "VEDASAMAJAM SANSKRIT HIGH SCHOOL, VEDASAMAJAM STREET/VYKUNTAM STREET". He is the father of Vasu Rao and Koteswara Rao are well-known music directors. Koteswara Rao (Koti) has formed a team with Somaraju (son of veteran music director T.V.Raju) as Raj-Koti and the duo is the most popular team in Telugu film music today.

  • I am Potta Venkatraju. I was born and brought up in Dabbi Street Salur. Studied in Vedasamajam Sanskrit High School. Its Town with rich water bodies, perinial river called "Vegavathi'" . Having oldest Panchamukheswara(Siva with 5 heads) temple which is only such type in India.
  • hai friends salur is very nice place in the ap.at salur we have more natural resours.we have 6 theaters,panchamukeswara tempel,shiridi sai temple,bhavani matha temple and vegavathi river is there.near salur at dhandigam we have beautiful waterfall,good hills is there.
  • Its a tiny town with full of green trees such as Nilgiri, teak and many medicinal plants too. Having perinial river called 'VEGAVATHI'. Having oldest temple for Lord Siva with 5 faces i.e Monolith Panchamukheswara situated very close to river the Vegavathi. Having famous temple for Godess Parvathi Devi on the hill, PARAMMA KONDA. Maha Siva Ratri is celebrated very different by climbing up the hill and offering Poojas to Godess Parvathi (localites belive that Pandavas i.e Dharmaraj,Bheema,Arjun,Nakul and Sahadeva stayed in the one of the caves on Parammakonda which being named as "PANDAVULA GRUHA'". Its famous for automobiles and having second highest of transport vehicles standing next to Vijayawada in rankings in Andhra. Having very traditional and oldest School called Veda Samajam Sanskrit High School where students recite Slokas on daily basis and Study Sanskrit for 5 years as mani subject. Also this town has a Sangeetha Patasala where many localites can learn traditional vocal music.
  • Salur is very tiny and neglected town because of several reasons, that is boon as well as curse, boon b'cos salur is still full of green and rich with natural beauty, i said curse b'cos of it geographical position, technology not reached to this place as much as it deserve. To believe its beauty you have to be personally be there.
