A nullah coming down from the Hathungla ridge and joining the Namka chu .On its western bank was a footpath which ascended to the tsangdhar plateau. This foot path and the valley in general was used by the Chinese to push in on 20 October 1962, so as to drive a wedge between the 7 Infantry Brigade's lateral positions along the Namka chu and occupy the Dropping Zone at Tsangdhar. At about 1000 yards from its confluence with the Namka chu was set up the Tactical Headquarters Of the 7 Infantry Brigade.
