This was the original hotel building. The new hotel has no charm or history. I am happy I can remember the days of the original Hotel O Cap. It had a sprawling porch and a marvelous view. You could have set a Southeast Asian movie there and called it Hotel O Cap. Now it is, well, no more than concrete and air-conditioning ducts, a building dropped by parachute from Seoul (the first builder-owner was Korean; he went bankrupt building it). There is nothing Vietnamese about it at all. So sad. Modern Vietnamese don't know the life that they missed. Pity.
