This station used to be known as Oldbury but was renamed Sandwell and Dudley Station after the two West Midlands areas began to grow and it was decided more appropriate to rename in order to reflect the areas the station serves. There are regular services to Rugby, Birmingham and Stafford as well as the West Coast Mainline.
