Kikar Sdom Region- Lowest place on Earth!

Neot Hakikar and Ein Tamar are the two most southerly villages in the Dead Sea region and the two most northerly villages in the Arava - in other words, they are located at the exact point where the two regions meet. The green scenery will strike you as soon as you are on the road leading to Neot Hakikar, since it stands out against the otherwise arid surroundings. This is the Sodom salt marsh, the last remaining marsh in the country. The flatland has many water sources: flood water in winter, a high level of ground water and a large number of both fresh and salt water springs - all these drain into the land here to produce an area of marshy plant growth with bushes, trees, palms and a variety of wildlife and birds. During the migratory season this is a veritable paradise for nature lovers and ornithologists.
